Ghetto Ice Cream Trucks

When I first moved to California when I was seven I rode a school bus to some school on the ghetto side of town.  My bus driver was the sickest bus driver for his time because he was the only bus driver that would play music on the bus. He would play everything from Hip-Hop to Rock to Oldies. Every afternoon we’d get picked up from school our bus would pull up to the curb and we would all cheer as the kids who were riding other school buses stared at us in envy.

When I found this video, it totally reminded me of the school bus.  In this video an ice cream truck pulls up and is bumping Jibbs‘ “Chain Hang Low.”  The lady who recorded the video says in the video “You know you live in the ghetto when there’s an ice cream truck playing Chain Hang Low.”  I don’t know about you, but I’d rather run to an ice cream truck playing Chain Hang Low to get my ice cream sandwich than some song that sounds like it was created in MIDI.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:

  • Sense of Nostalgia. There’s something about ice cream trucks that make you think of your childhood even the ghetto ones.
  • Simple Viral. This video got a good amount of viral views and it wasn’t some blown out produced video.
