The spirit of entrepreneurship a young couple in New Haven, Connecticut decided to start a business of cupcakes on the go. Marsha & Todd Rowe fixed up an old truck and decided to take their business amongst many other mobile vendors by the Yale Campus, and it’s turning out to be a success.
What I love about The Cupcake Truck is their blog. Their blog Food Driven, features posts that say where the truck will be that day. For example last Monday, the truck was at:
LOCATION
Sachem Street - 12:30 to 3:15
Cedar Street - 3:15 to 4:30/5ish
and serving…
CHOOSE A CUPCAKE ($2)
Red Velvet Jones
Chocolate Ruin
Loco Coconut
Lemon Meringue
It also lists toppings, extras, beverages, and the number you can call them at.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:
- Do What You Love on a Budget. What I love about this couple is that they knew overhead costs would be quite heavy on them if they were to open up their store front so they went with a truck. They knew where the demographic would be and set up shop right amongst other mobile vendors in New Haven. Most of all Marsha & Todd are doing what they love and enjoying their labor of love.
