Who broke the Apple Store?

My twitter stream was filled with Code Red alert: “Apple store is down!” Is than an affirmative private? “Yes, the Apple Store is down!” I checked online, sure enough Apple was down. So I thought ok maybe this has to do with Facebook Places that’s going to launch? Then I thought wait a minute the two aren’t related so that can’t be it.

On my iPhone I checked the App store and it told me that it “couldn’t connect to the iTunes store.” Whaat!??! How am I supposed to update the Facebook App for Places??



Went to the Apple Store App and what pops up? A yellow post-it note saying “We’ll be back soon.” Ok thanks Apple, but umm where did you go and umm when are you coming back?

Two thoughts came to mind:
1) Simple Creative Answer. Instead of telling us some blah message like: “Is currently undergoing maintenance” they said to just chill the site will be back in a minute and you can shop all that your Apple heart desires.

2) What Are They Releasing. Sure online the site said “with new Macbooks” but I’m not seeing any new product now. Maybe it’s all those iPhone 4 bumper & cases requests or they’re finally getting the white iPhone 4 for all of those who have been patiently waiting.

Keep your fingers crossed I’m sure something good has to come out of it. They wouldn’t let the site just go down for regular maintenance.
