Car Industry Markets with Webisodes

The past few weeks I recently noticed that car companies have been targeting their customers with some pretty creative webisodes or videos online. Here are five examples that have caught my eye
1. Kia Sorento “How You Like Me Now”
Don’t you wish your stuffed animals came to life and started doing the robot and cabbage patch at a club in Vegas? This one didn’t start off as a webisodes, but caught millions of viewers eyes during the Superbowl this year with teasers that said: “See us in the 3rd quarter of the big game.” If you missed the full commercial where else would you have to go but online to see the full version.
2. Audi A1 “Next Big Thing”
I randomly spotted a commercial shoot while driving to the freeway one day and noticed a car I hadn’t ever seen before. When I put the word out on Twitter asking what the car was, people quickly responded AUDI A1!!!! Someone had tweeted that Justin Timberlake was doing a webisode series for the A1. I just wish they’d sell the darn thing in the US already. That’s one HOT car!
3. Toyota Sienna “Sienna Family”
The Sienna Family is almost as hilarious as ABC’s new hit show Modern Family. “Where My Kids At…Where My Kids At” It’s all about the Swagger Wagggggon…SON! Talk about well casted!
4. Ford Fiesta “Fiesta Agents”
Ford has had a pretty successful social media campaign by activating 100 Fiesta Agents to talk about the Fiesta a year before it’s even out. Even though the Agents had to give up their Fiestas after 6 months they continued to build webisdoes with a few of them. This Zombie one is interesting because it shows a comparison with it’s competitors the Yaris & Fit for keyless entry & push-button start.
5. Kia Soul “Hampsters”
Kia knows how to target females by adding stuffed animals & hampsters (*shaking fist*), but their recent video for the Soul with hampsters rapping Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours,” may have given them an entrance into the male market. Plus they really know how to target ads on Facebook.
