A guy dressed as part of the Spartacus crew with a sword intimidating. Someone dressed as The Predator definitely scary. Sitting in Hall H in a panel at Comic Con 2010 life threatening?!?!?

We’ve heard some interesting stories come out of the Con but this was one was one for the records. A man gets stabbed in the eye over a dispute with another man who argued that the “seat was taken!” No punches were thrown, no gunshots were heard, not even a knife or plastic sword was brought out. What had the victim’s life been threatened with? A PEN!!!

When news had broken of the stabbing, I was blocks away. Fortunately, my very dear friend Krystyl Baldwin was on the scene to catch this awesome photo of the perpetrator getting arrested. Many of us thought this has to be a PR stunt! Maybe it’s a PR pull for Resident Evil? Maybe Harry Potter since the guy was wearing a Potter shirt? Oh no, it was the real deal and she had the photo to prove it!

So while you may be thinking of going to Comic Con 2011, you may want to think twice about bringing a pen with you. Who knows you may find yourself pinned down to the ground by 20 security officers for bringing one in. I don’t even want to know what would happen if I brought a Sharpie!
