Guitar Hero Continues to Conquer

A couple of months ago I was at Best Buy lingering around waiting for my movie to start at the theater next door. No one was around the X-box that had Guitar Hero II hooked up so I figured, “Hey why not!”
I’ve played guitar/bass on Rock Band before and sucked big time to the point where I’ve failed for our group. Since no one was around I decided to pick up the guitar and start playing. I selected the infamous Guitar Hero song “Slither” by Velvet Revolver. For once I was actually doing well and was ¾ of the way through the song when my nerves started to get shakier and shakier by the second. I finally completed the session and got a 75%. Instead of screaming the first thing I did was adjust my eyes because my contacts had dried up since I didn’t blink while playing. The second I blinked it hurt so much I had to physically move my eyelids with my fingers. Thanks Guitar Hero!
This is why Guitar Hero and Rock Band are amazing. They pull you in so much that you look like a zombie following all the notes. Guitar Hero recently came out with their first one band edition, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Lead guitarist Joe Perry played his son’s Guitar Hero and asked his son if Aerosmith’s songs were on there and his son responded “No.” He and the rest of the band decided to approach them and instead of offering songs they offered a whole game.
Now we just have to wait for it to come out on Rock Band so we can be Steven Tyler too!
