Oh No Ed McMahon Didn’t!

I heard on the news this morning that Ed McMahon was going to be doing two viral rap videos for FreeCreditReport.com. In one of the videos he’s joined by two scantily clad women and raps:
“Got a bump from the media chumps, but that was temporary/Wife with bad credit was scary, so I got wise/I may have fallen, but I got back up/Now I’m back on the attack, like a ninja swinging nunchucks/I told the haters, ‘Go on, take a hike’/It’s my show now, and I can do what I like.”
Anyone confused?
In some ways it makes sense. The FreeCreditReport.com commercials that you’ve seen on TV where a hipster guy is singing and rapping about why he can’t get approved on a car loan because of his credit, or why he can’t get a home loan because his wife has f-d up credit.
Sounds like their VP of Strategic Marketing at FreeCreditReport.com, knows exactly who their target demographic is.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:
- Catching the Longtail. I remember the cheesy FreeCreditReport.com commercials that were out five years ago were not as effective, with wanting to know what the number “720″ was. It wasn’t until FreeCreditReport.com came out with their catchy singing commercials that people knew who they were. They hit an untapped market, the multiple demographics that need to know their credit scores in this tough economy.
