Where Has Niecee Been

I know I know. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted shame on me. A blogger took a break, well technically I didn’t and maybe these photos will help explain where I’ve been.
Got Back Into Photography. When I was a kid I used to take pictures all the time. Last year I started to get back into it and somehow fell out of it. Bought myself an XSI and was able to explore an artistic side I had lost. The first thing I shot was a Tweetup we had at the Long Beach Port.
Discovering My Past. My parents decided to clean out their garage completely and I came across some cool old school tech stuff I remembered when I was a kid. Old cash registers, typewriters, and my favorite a betamax cassette that had Chuck Norris’ Delta Force on it. My parents were fans.
First Event With The New Camera. The first event I shot for work with my new XSI was our own skate event down in San Diego called Clash at Clairemont. Nothing’s cooler than shooting action shots. Standing in the right area and catching the perfect action shot of a skater is definitely rewarding.
Until I Covered Music. After our skate event the next day I had to jump on a plane to Austin to head over to SXSW. Don’t know what was cooler shooting photos of panels with James Powderly, Guy Kawasaki & Chris Anderson, or Devo being interviewed by Nic Harcourt of KCRW. I thought shooting actions shots was rewarding, starting to think nothing tops shooting concert photos. Favorite moment, Janelle Monae literally grabbing the lens of my camera as I was able to get this shot.
An Age of Innocence. Sometimes you need a break and need to regroup what are some of the essentials that help balance your life and one of them would be Family. Last weekend I went to my niece’s 1st birthday party and while spending time with my family caught some terrific photos of my nephew and nieces’. Shooting kids is fun and their faces and expressions when you catch that awesome shot makes you feel right at home.
