Last week I reported about Pandora this week, but I’m even more sad to report about Muxtape.

When I first logged into Muxtape and saw their model, I immediately knew it wasn’t going to last and that they were going to run into some issues with the RIAA so I enjoyed it while it lasted.  Since users were uploading songs and playing songs off of other people’s playlists on Muxtape’s end their loophole was telling the user to upload a full album.  That didn’t happen users threw whatever were their favorite songs onto their playlist which leads us to “Muxtape will be unavailable for a brief period while we sort out a problem with RIAA.”

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:

• Contingency Plan. Muxtape was a super grass roots site. I’m sure they probably put all their chips in and said, “Let it ride!” Looks like they didn’t have a contingency plan and ended it up losing their hand.
