Google Lives a Lively 3D life

Last week Google released their new feature Lively.  Lively allows you can create avatars, customize chat rooms and chat with your friends and add it to your site.  The site is still currently in beta mode and requires that you have Windows Vista/XP with Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Lively has been getting some skeptic comments, calling it Google’s version of Second Life, but the traffic that’s being driven to Lively is phenomenal and has been ranked a “Mover & Shaker” this week on Alexa.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS
:

  • Services for free. Although the site is still in beta testing, Google did what it does best, provide services for free when their competitors are charging (Second Life).
