Why so Serious at Wimbledon?

“Get in the hole!!”
I’ve been playing golf for about ten years now and have been watching tournaments on TV since I was five. What I like about golf since Happy Gilmore came out, is the fact that it’s not so serious anymore. Watch the Masters or the US Open and I guarantee you will see people on the sides with beer cans screaming as Sergio Garcia sinks in that last put…”Get in the hole!!!”
Last week Wimbledon got their dose of not being so serious with yet again another viral stunt! Lotus had creepy faceless spectators walking around London and at the most recognizable public event, Wimbledon. Some looked over in curiosity and some turned away in a not amused manner. I think it’s a great satirical campaign for Lotus Cars considering who their target demographic is.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:
- Know who your targets lifestyle. Lotus had the alienesque faces walking around Harrods and the All-England Tennis Club. They knew they could catch their target demographic at these locations.
- Transparency. I like that this campaign reveals who the Lotus is as well as who their customer through their tactics.
