Two groups out of NYC are creating some of the hottest viral videos right now.

Waverly Films is a group based out of Brooklyn that have grown in popularity on Youtube with the clip of the week episodes.  They’ve also done work for Burger King, Death Cab for Cutie, LCD Soundsystem, Heinz Ketchup, and McDonalds.

Black 20 is a group that started off as tour guides for a major television network in NYC and created broadband comedy shows while working their 9-5s.  After ambushing a network executive in the elevator their pilot was picked up by the network, but ended up being cut due to a lack of resources.  After a trip down to Atlantic City and a lucky move on roulette that landed them on black 20 they created their own network called “Black 20.”  Their episode “The Easter Bunny Hates You” made them viral in 2006 earning them millions of viewers.

NIECEE’s TAKE AWAYS:

  • Pepsi & Coke? Remember it’s not about who got their first. It’s about how well you do it.  Each group has a different styles so it’s not suprising that they would both succeed in creating their webisodes.
